Balmain's attention to detail/ Spring 2010

Designer Christophe Decarnin's middle name should be: 'Attention to detail'. It's amazing to see this designer's creativity in every season. Christophe Decarnin is the name behind Balmain; his great designs have been knocked off by many other brands, especially his accessories and footwear, you can see Balmain's influence everywhere.

Many people have been waiting for his Spring 2010 Collection, I was one of them. After I saw his collection, I felt in love with his interpretation of the military look and the fabulous craftsmanship of his pieces. He created an edgy look using beautiful embellishment and unexpected shapes.

I take my hat off for his amazing accessories and shoes. The intricate details on the belts are to die for, and the boots what can I say? They're all so sexy! Most of you probably have seen this entire collection already, but I wanted to share with you other things that cought my eye about this collection.

El segundo nombre del diseñador Christophe Dicarnin debería ser 'Detallista'. Es increíble ver la creatividad de este diseñador en cada una de sus collecciones. Christophe Dicarnin es el nombre detrás de Balmain, sus increíbles diseños han sido copiados una y otra vez por diferentes marcas, especialmente sus accesorios y zapatos, podemos ver la influencia de Balmain por todos lados. Mucha gente ha estado esperando por la colección Primavera 2010, y yo era una de ellas por su puesto. Después de ver la colección completa, quede enamorada de la manera como interpreto el look militar creando un look muy moderno y sexy con muchos detalles y siluetas diferentes. Me quito el sombrero por sus accesorios y zapatos. El trabajo en las correas es para morirse! y las botas..que puedo decir? Todas super sexy!

La mayoría de ustedes de seguro ya vieron esta colección, pero yo quería compartir con ustedes otras cosas que llamaron mas mi atención de esta colección ademas de la ropa.

Friday's Inspiration: Braids and Over the knee boots

Oh yes, I felt so inspired by Alexander Wang's models with braids (NY Fashion week Sp. 2010), I just love the wild and romantic look of those braids. I also I was inspired by those killer over the knee boots from my previous post! So I started making a sketch that reflects both things, the braids and the over the knee boots. Those elements inspired me so much to create the outfit as well. Hope you like it.

Any plans for the weekend? I don't have plans yet, but think I'll go to the movies to see "Coco Before Chanel", I can't believe I haven't seen it yet!!. Last week, I saw "The September Issue" and I loved it! I can't wait for the Dvd!

Oh si, esta vez me inspiré en las modelos de Alexander Wang, que desfilaron en la semana de la moda en NY (Primavera 2010). Me encanto el toque algo salvaje y romántico de esas trenzas. También me inspiraron mucho las botas sobre la rodilla de mi post anterior. Por eso decidí hacer un boceto que reflejara ambas cosas, las trenzas y las botas sobre la rodilla. Esos elementos me inspiraron mucho para crear la ropa también, espero que les guste.

Algún plan para el fin de semana? Yo todavía no tengo planes, solo se que voy para el cine a ver la película de Coco Chanel, no puedo creer que no la haya visto todavía! La semana pasada fui a ver "The September Issue" y me encantó! Ya quiero que salga en Dvd para comprarla. Un lindo fin de semana para todos! Besos

A little bit of sunshine

I wanted to share with you these cool photos of Santa Monica, California. I love this photo shoot because this is exactly the weather in California right now, still hot. However, yesterday the weather was perfect, not too hot and not too cold, exactly the way I love it! Some other things that caught my eye in this photo shoot were the hot weather with the Fall-Winter clothes, the beautiful hair of the model, and of course the fabulous over the knee boots!! I think the photographer, Matthias Vriens-McGrath, captured the spirit of California in these pictures. I love Santa Monica, it's a very nice area to walk and enjoy the view..I specially like the street performers on the weekends! I picked some of my favorite photos so take a look and enjoy this little bit of sunshine!

Quería compartir con ustedes estas fotos de Santa Mónica, California. Me encantan estas fotos porque reflejan exactamente el clima en California ahora mismo, todavía hace calor, aunque ayer el clima estaba perfecto, ni mucho calor ni mucho frío, exactamente como me gusta! Otras cosas que me llamaron la atención en estas fotos fue el día soleado con ropa de Otoño-Invierno, el cabello de la modelo, y por supuesto también adoré las botas sobre las rodillas! Pienso que el fotografo, Matthias Vriens-McGrath, capturó el espíritu de California en estas fotos. A mi me encanta Santa Mónica, es sitio muy lindo para caminar y disfrutar de los paisajes...Especialmente me gustan los artistas que muestran su talento en las calles de Santa Mónica.
