Friday's Inspiration: Masks and Bunny ears

Halloween is really close! and I'm still thinking about what to wear...I have a couple of ideas, but I just didn't have the time to make put them into practice, and now it's almost the day and there's not much time to decide what to do. Talking about ideas for Halloween, I'm so in love with bunny ears! I love the ones made out of lace because of the way they look with a regular fashionable outfit. I'm also loving animal masks, I don't know, I think I got very inspired by some pictures I found on the internet..so I guess my Halloween custome is going to have some of these elements in it. I wanted to share with you these photos, hope they inspire you as well :)

Halloween ya esta bien cerca! y todavia no he decidido de que disfrazarme...tengo algunas ideas, pero no he tenido tiempo de ponerlas en practica, y ahora ya casi es el día y no hay tiempo para decidir que hacer.

Hablando de ideas para Halloween, ahora mismo ando algo obsesionada con la idea de las orejitas de conejo! Me encantan las que son de encaje y como se ven con un outfit bien fashion. Tambien me encantan las mascaras de animales, no se, creo que me inspire de unas fotos que encontré por el internet...creo que mi disfraz tiene que tener esos elementos. Queria compartir con ustedes estas fotos, espero que les inspiren :)

Strict Joy

I'm not sure how to start this post, because there are so many things I want to share with you...well, I guess I have to start from the beginning...My romance with this band began the first time I watched the film "Once"; I still remember how excited I was when my honey brought that movie for us to watch it; there are certain films that have the power to touch my heart and "Once" is one of them. I remember exactly how I felt that night after I finished watching the movie, it was a mix of joy and sadness, I ended up crying a little, but not because I didn't like the end, it was because I really felt connected with the story and the beauty of this film. If you haven't seen this film, I highly recommend it, for the ones who love indie films and music, this is a must see. This film is actually a modern musical that was made with a low budget; the main characters are actual musicians that's why the whole story develops very naturally. Their names are Glenn Hansard (from the Irish band, The Frames) and Marketa Irglova (Classically trained Czech pianist and vocalist). The main song of this film is "Falling Slowly" and won the Oscar in 2008 for best original song.

The New Album

Glenn & Marketa are in Los Angeles right now promoting their new album. There was a signing event tonight at Amoeba Music in Sunset Blvd. where I had the pleasure to meet them in person! I was so excited and happy because I'm such a fan of their music! They signed my cds and we talked a little bit about the film and the music, it was so amazing to meet them because they're such genuine people and very down to earth. I felt like I was talking to a friend, it was such an experience!

The Swell Season will perform in Los Angeles at the Wiltern on November 18th and 19th. I already purchased my tickets; I'm so excited that I'm finally going to see them performing!

No se muy bien como comenzar este post, ya que hay varias cosas que quiero compartir con ustedes, bueno creo que debo comenzar por el principio...Mi romance con esta banda comenzó cuando vi por primera vez la película "Once", todavía recuerdo lo emocionada que estaba cuando mi chico me trajo la película para que la viéramos; hay ciertas películas que tienen el poder de tocarme el corazón y "Once" es una de ellas. Recuerdo exactamente como me sentí esa noche después de ver la película, era una mezcla de alegría y tristeza, terminé derramando unas lagrimillas, pero no fue porque no me gustara el final, fue porque me sentí conectada con la historia y la belleza de esta película. Si no han visto la película todavía, se las recomiendo, para los que les gusta las películas independientes y la música, es obligatorio verla. Esta película es realmente un musical moderno, la cual fue producida con un presupuesto bastante limitado; los personajes principales son los verdaderos músicos, por eso toda la historia se desarrolla de una manera muy natural. Sus nombres son Glenn Hansard (quien fue parte de la banda Irlandesa The Frames) y Marketa Irglova (Pianista y vocalista clasica de la Republica Checa). El tema principal de esta película se llama "Falling Slowly" la cual ganó el Oscar en el 2008 como mejor canción original. Glenn y Marketa acaban de sacar su nuevo álbum llamado "Strict Joy". Glenn y Marketa se encuentran en los Angeles ahora promocionando su disco y estuvieron en un evento firmando autografos en la tienda de discos Amoeba que queda en Sunset Boulevard. Allí tuve el placer de conocerlos personalmente! Me sentí super feliz y emocionada porque me encanta su música! Firmaron mis Cds y hablamos un poco acerca de la película, fue increible conocerlos, ellos son super amables, genuinos y muy sencillos, me sentí como si estuviera conversando con amigos, fue una experiencia realmente increible!

The Swell Season se va a presentar en Los Angeles en un local llamado el Wiltern el 18 y 19 de Noviembre, ya

compré mis entradas y estoy muy emocionada porque por fin los voy a ver tocando en vivo, arriba pueden ver mas información y los links del trailer de la película, su pagina web, entradas para los conciertos y su disco.

Friday's Inspiration: Love is in the air...

This post is just an excuse to celebrate love...love in general...this feeling has the power to put a smile in our faces every time we feel it our hearts...by the way, today is finally Friday! and that makes me happy because I can spend more time with my beloved ones!

This illustration came to my mind as an idea to mix something sweet like a girl feeling the wind on her face (That's why I love to walk around on windy days, just to feel the wind on my face..) some heart balloons, and the outfit I love!

Where the wild things are... Love it!

This weekend I went to the movies to see "Where the Wild Things Are" (See the trailer: here) and I loved it! I think it's visually amazing! I felt different emotions while I watched it, I laughed and cried. In my opinion, It was very symbolic, artsy and unique. I really loved the characters! It was just a magical experience.

By the way, Urban Outfitters has a whole collection of toys, clothing, books, etc. inspired by this movie. I also went to the store and saw the beautiful decoration inspired by the film, every corner has something especial and unexpected. I wanted to share with you some of the pictures I took at Urban Outfitters and other places around the area that are promoting this film as well. Hope you enjoy it!

Este fin de semana fui a ver la pelicula "Where the Wild Things Are" (Pueden ver los avances : aqui) y me encantó! Pienso que es visualmente magnífica! Mientras la veía, rei y lloré. En mi opinión fue bastante simbólica, artística y única. Me encantaron los personajes! Fue una experiencia mágica. A propósito de la película, Urban Outfitters ha sacado una colección completa inspirada en esta película; juguetes, ropa, libros, etc. Fui a la tienda en estos días y la decoración esta increible, toda inspirada en la película, cada esquina tenia algo especial e inesperado. Quería compartir algunas fotos que tomé en la tienda y en sus alrededores donde también se esta promocionando esta película. Espero que les guste!
